The music world has been left heartbroken past the death of Foo Fighters star Taylor Hawkins at the age of 50, with tributes flooding in following the shocking news.

The drummer'south death was announced on social media by the rock ring, who take been left 'devastated' afterward he was institute unresponsive in his hotel room in Bogota, Republic of colombia, where the band was due to perform.

Hawkins, 50, played in the Foos with former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl on vocal for more than ii decades, aslope Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee.

'The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our love Taylor Hawkins,' Foo Fighters official business relationship tweeted.

No further details about Hawkins' death were provided, although local media outlets reported that Hawkins had been suffering from chest hurting and an ambulance had been chosen.

The band Nickelback tweeted: 'In utter atheism at the news of Taylor Hawkins. Our deepest condolences to his family, his bandmates, his team, his friends and everyone that was ever touched by the music he created with @foofighters @Alanis and so many others.

Hawkins joined Foo Fighters in 1997 following the difference of the ring'southward previous drummer William Goldsmith.

He was inducted into the Rock and Ringlet Hall of Fame with them in 2021 by Sir Paul McCartney.

Following the release of their most contempo album, Medicine At Midnight, the ring filmed a spoof-horror pic titled Studio 666, in which Hawkins starred alongside his bandmates.

Prior to joining Foo Fighters he had played drums for Alanis Morissette.

Tributes to Hawkins poured in immediately on social media from fellow musicians including Ozzy Osbourne and Billy Idol.

Hawkins was born in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1972 and raised in Laguna Beach, California.

He is survived past his married woman Alison and their three children.
